Industry. The significant branches of the industry of Uzbekistan are production and working of the textile. The industry involves about 20 % of working power of Uzbekistan. To those outstanding branches of industry relate machine building (production of agricultural machines and equipment for the production of textile) and aircraft construction.
In the agriculture involved 40 % of population. Cotton - most significant agro-product of the country: Uzbekistan ranks the 4th place in the world in producing cotton and the 2nd place in exporting it.
Climate and the clothing: The climate of Uzbekistan is hot, dry, and sharply continental. The north of republic relates to that moderated, the extreme south - to subtropical zones. Warm winter and hot continuous summer is characteristic for Uzbekistan. Coldest month in the year - January, the hottest - July. Nature of the regions on the edge have contrast characteristic. Deserts and green valleys, snow-covered mountains and lowlands, water-abundant rivers and reservoirs create unique coloring. Better time for the arrival into Uzbekistan - spring, in March prior to the beginning of June, and autumn, in September prior to the beginning of November. For the journey in the summer time one should take the facilitating respiration and pleasant for the skin clothing from the cotton fabrics. The spacious clothing, which closes arms and feet, will protect you not only from the heat, but also will emphasize respect for Moslem world view. Orders in the carrying of clothing are observed not as strictly as in other Islamic countries. Nevertheless one should dress as far as possible more conservative because of respect for religious feelings of population. Since the solar rays is very intensive, it is necessary to take with you hat to protect from the sun or any other suitable head-gear, and also should not forget sunglasses. For the cool evenings in spring and in autumn and for the alpine regions one should take warm pullover or jacket. Do not forget also to take convenient and durable foot-wear for the excursions.
Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months after entering into the country. During the journey you must always keep your passport together. You also should have a copy of your passport.
Restaurants. In all cities there is the large number of restaurants, cafe, tea houses (choykhona). They differ, of course, from restaurants in Europe, but, nevertheless, they worthwhile to visit. If you want to learn everything about the Uzbek dishes, you have to visit restaurants in the old city. Only there you will be able to try traditional Uzbek dishes and to witness the hospitality of Uzbeks.

Photographing. Important strategic buildings (train stations, airports, boundary posts, and metro) are forbidden to photograph. Before the photographing in the mosques, should be asked permission. According to the Islamic religion it is forbidden to photograph during the praying. If you want to photograph people, in order to be more tactful ask first permission. Older people and women according to the Islamic culture are not always reluctant to be photographed.
